We’re extremely sorry to be getting in touch like this but unfortunately we are having to cancel all bookings to Onda at The New Cross between March 28th and May 12th 2024. This includes the booking you have made with us.

This was a really really hard decision to make and we felt we had no other choice.

We are not going to leave you completely in the lurch - we will be giving you the opportunity to book priority space at our restaurant when it opens in May.

Below we’ll explain what’s happened and how (if you’d like) you can rebook with us in our new restaurant before we open up bookings.

Why is Onda's popup at The New Cross closing early?

We planned to be a popup at The New Cross until August which is why bookings were available for you to book for these dates.

In the meantime, we have been searching for somewhere we could open our own restaurant. This has been our dream since day one. 

We found an empty space we loved, and after forecasting costs to build a full restaurant from scratch (and the time that it takes), we were set back and started looking at other places.

Then in the last few weeks, we’ve found a site that had a fully fledged restaurant in there before. This means we don’t have to install all the bare bones (extraction, kitchen, toilets, plumbing, heating etc etc) and we’ve saved a significant amount of money that we didn’t have to spend or go into debt with.

As a popup, it’s incredibly difficult to make it work and we needed to find a place by August before we had to leave The New Cross.

We hope you can understand this decision.

How to rebook with us before anyone else, at our new restaurant:

As you had already booked with us, we will email you a booking link next week which will be open to you before anyone else before it goes public.

To book in with us at our first restaurant when we open from May onwards.

Finally

We are really really sorry for having to cancel bookings. Financially it’s a very tough decision for us and it wasn’t taken lightly (at all).

If you had planned to visit for an occasion, birthday, etc and are struggling to find an alternative.. Please drop us a message and we can help suggest / ask our friends in other restaurants to help find somewhere.
